Mike is a lifelong resident of Kendallville. He’s been with WAWK for 30 years, originally starting at the station in 1984. After leaving radio in 1988, he returned to WAWK in 1991. Mike has served the station in many roles as a Disc Jockey, News Director, and sports play-by-play announcer. Mike is a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Miami Dolphins, and Notre Dame. He’s also a huge Beatles fan.
Dan “Boogie” Knight began his career in broadcasting in nearby Auburn in 1982 at WIFF AM and FM. After a short break he continued his career in 1986 at WZRQ Z106 in Fort Wayne where he worked under former WOWO personality Ron Gregory. Dan then followed Gregory back to WOWO in 1988.
Dan worked at WOWO from 1988 to 1997, working the afternoon show and the all night request show, covering 48 states. After a stint at WGL AM 1250 and another break from broadcasting, he started a four year stop at Steve Shine’s WSHI Sunny 106.3. Dan later moved on to Classic Rock 92.3 in 2005 and then WAWK 95.5 FM The HAWK in 2013. Dan also has spent time in the voice-over industry, including voice work for NBC 33. He has also spent time as a public address announcer for the Fort Wayne Wizards and the Angola Motor Speedway. Dan spends his free time following the Detroit Tigers, taking care of his dachshund “Charlie” and running.

Fred Inniger has been a Broadcast Sports icon in Northeast Indiana for many years. Fred has also been affiliated with WAWK for many years. Fred started at WAWK in 1969 till 1985, and came back to THE HAWK in 2010 when WAWK received an FM license for 95.5.

Rich Hartley was born and raised in Kendallville and has lived here in the surrounding community. He always wanted to be a disc jockey all his life (since 5 years old) finally fulfilling a dream come true when he joined WAWK 1140 AM in the fall of 1999.
Thanks to the late Don Moore for hiring Rich and giving him a golden chance of a lifetime in radio broadcasting. Rich can be heard Friday nights from 6 to 9 pm and Sunday afternoon from noon to 4 pm. Rich really enjoys the working at the HAWK.

Terry "The Colonel" Thacker is the Bluegrass DJ for WAWK The Hawk. His show has been running for 15 years and going strong. Terry was born and raised in the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky where he learned to play Bluegrass on his fiddle.
In 1984 he joined the Army and served at Fort Bliss in El Paso for 2 years, and then Nuremberg, Germany for 3 years returning to his home town of Hindman, KY in 1989. Lack of jobs moved Terry to Kendallville where he had family. In August 1995 he felt Northeast Indiana needed to hear Bluegrass so he talked with CEO Don Moore, and was given a chance to promote his love of Bluegrass music. He was given a half hour show for starters, and as the music spread, his popularity grew stronger. Now he has a 2-1/2 hour show on Sundays from 12 noon till 2:30 pm. Terry has a loving family, he and his wife Stacey have been married 27 years and he has one son Kaleb who is 21. His hobbies are listening to all kinds of music, going to Bluegrass festivals, and flying remote controlled helicopters.
